About Dr. Dougherty
Dr. Dougherty stands among the nation's most accomplished laser and lens-based vision correction specialists. He serves as Medical Director of DLV Vision and holds an assistant clinical instructor position at UCLA's Jules Stein Eye Institute within the Geffen School of Medicine. He has been principal investigator on numerous FDA clinical trials covering topography-guided LASIK, Visian ICL implants, presbyopia treatment, and accommodating intraocular lenses.
He was among the few surgeons performing investigational laser vision correction before FDA approval in 1995, and in 1997 became one of the first surgeons in the nation to undergo LASIK on his own eyes. He has personally performed over 40,000 vision correction procedures.

Dr. Dougherty has been featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, The Doctors, CBS Early Show, NBC Today Show, People Magazine, and USA Today. He founded the Andrew Dougherty Vision Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing pro bono vision correction to homeless individuals in the U.S. and disadvantaged populations in war-torn and disaster-affected regions, including a cataract surgery mission in Haiti featured on ABC's Nightline.
